Giving Blood Saves Lives

Did you know that January is National Blood Donor Month?

Blood is typically in short supply during winter months due to the holidays, heavy travel and increased illness rates. And when there’s a seasonal dip in blood donations coming in (an average of 39,000 units are needed every day), the nation’s reserve becomes critical.

That’s why the Association of Donor Recruitment Professionals (ADRP) spends much of its resources campaigning for donations during this crucial time, encouraging anyone eligible to give or pledge to give blood in their area blood drive. The process is quick, safe and easy, and you’ll go home with the piece of mind that you helped save lives (one donation of blood, when separated into its components, can save up to three lives).
