McGuckin Hardware Hosts 3rd Pet Expo

McGuckin Hardware will host dozens of pet-related vendors, promotions, adoption and grooming services at its third annual Pet Expo.

Boulder, CO –May 27, 2016—McGuckin Hardware, pet supplier and welcoming institution for leashed dogs and other pets since 1978, is pleased to announce this year’s Pet Expo, bringing food and treat vendors, trainers, adoption services and Do-It-Yourself aficionados together for an all-day, pet-friendly event on Saturday, June 4th.
The Humane Society of Boulder Valley (HSBV), an institution that has helped dogs, cats and other critters for 113 years, will also be present, providing information about adoption services, training programs and veterinary care for animals in need. McGuckin Hardware will also accept donations for HSBV at registers inside the store between May 27 and June 5th, offering customers the chance to give a custom amount or round up their day’s purchase to the nearest dollar.
“We can’t wait to see everyone and their pets at this year’s Pet Expo!” said Amanda Williams, the HSBV development and event coordinator. “We’ll be front and center at the event with fun giveaways, adorable canine ambassadors greeting guests, and information on ways to enhance your relationship with your pet and help them continue to live happy and healthy lives.”
The expo will also feature new and exciting pet products, like the Pet Releaf line, which uses CBD oils from hemp plants to treat an array of mental and physical afflictions, including anxiety, seizures, inflammation and general aches and pain.
“We’re on a mission to change what is healthy for pets with the mammalian endocannabinoid system—one of the biggest medical discoveries in decades,” said Steve Smith, CEO of Pet Releaf. “We appreciate the McGuckin philosophy of not cutting corners and doing things the right way for customers—and it’s one we want to emulate.”
“McGuckins is a place where dogs can learn to socialize with other dogs,” said Megan O’Connor, who works in the McGuckin pet department. “Employees carry treats in their pockets because they look forward to seeing dogs—it makes their day a little bit happier.”
Dogs are encouraged to bring their appetites, as the Kona Ice truck will be on hand serving shaved ice to canines and their guardians, and a variety of sample treats from many different vendors will be available at booths during this pet friendly event.
“And not just dogs,” Megan adds, “you can literally bring in any pet—except for maybe a dragon.”
